Bill Voors – a champion in every sense of the word
It is with deep regret that R time has to say goodbye to Bill Voors, one of our consultants in North America. After a short illness Bill died on 2nd October 2011.
Bill championed the cause of the bullied and the oppressed. His heart of compassion reached out and he worked selflessly to help those experiencing fear, loneliness and victimisation.
He searched tirelessly for new ways of tackling the social evil of bullying and R time is proud that Bill saw something special in R time. Our association began in November 2007 at an International Anti-bullying Conference in Fort Lauderdale. Bill, having evaluated R time carefully, liked what he saw and strove to bring the R time programme to North America.
He added much to its development in the United States, writing new materials, editing the resources to fit the U.S. environment and making it an effective, as well as user friendly programme for the U.S. audience.
Although it could be argued that R time makes a difference to the lives of children, there is absolutely no doubt that Bill Voors did. R time will miss his valued input greatly and our hope is that his legacy will live on through the work that he started.
Bill Voors – you will be missed, but your work lives on. Thanks for the memories.
