The R time Manual and Activity Books
The full R time Manual contains:
- Everything needed to implement R time across the whole school. It is recommended that schools should have one copy of the full manual as a central resource
- The background to R time and the underpinning philosophy
- An explanation of each one of the 5 component parts that together make up the R time approach
- Guidance on how to carry out the R time Questionnaires and how to interpret the findings
- Questionnaires for every class in the school on a CD
- 30 activities for each year group from Nursery to Year 6 (240 in total, explained in 5 easy to follow steps). All these activities are presented in easy to follow lesson plans.
- Assessment information to help evaluate the effectiveness of R time

The R time Activity Books:
- There are two of these and they contain the activities also found in the full manual. It is recommended that additional copies of these are bought by schools for the teachers to use with their classes
- One book contains all of the activities for Foundation and Key Stage One
- The other book contains all of the activities for Key Stage Two
- The books contain copies of the questionnaires for the relevant age groups
- The books contain basis guidelines but should be used in conjunction with the R time Manual.
